Are there any possible side effects?Updated 17 days ago
First and foremost: what should you do if you feel unwell during the juice cleanse? The answer is simple: stop! A juice cleanse is a challenge for yourself, both mentally and physically. But if your body signals that it's too much for it, then you should listen to it and stop the juice cleanse!
TIP: Before you stop completely, you can try the following:
- Eat a handful of nuts or a small amount of unsweetened oatmeal to give your body some energy.
- Drink some broth to replenish your mineral balance.
- Chew gum to trick your hunger pangs – but make sure it contains natural ingredients!
A juice cleanse is a drastic change to your usual diet. Your body and mind need time to adjust to this new situation. In addition, suddenly giving up processed sugar also poses a real challenge for your body and can lead to mild withdrawal symptoms. If you also give up caffeine, further side effects cannot be ruled out.
Possible side effects include:
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Circulatory problems
- Heartburn
- Fatigue
- Mood swings / Hangry (hungry + angry)
- Sensitive teeth
- Large amounts of fruit acid can weaken tooth enamel.
TIP: Drink the juices with a straw! Also, make sure to leave enough time between drinking the juices and brushing your teeth!
